Read whole post before commenting - thanx =) Hey, today i checked out the NFSC online. It's full of cheaters (blame EA) and the system is very similar to the system introduced in NFS Underground. I guess that very little has to be changed in the original NFS Carbon Server as published on http://3priedez.net/nfsu/ - the game uses a certain hostname which can be overwritten in the c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file to the desired server where you would run your custom server. But the game uses diffrerent ports than NFSU:
Q. What ports are used during online play? According to NFS Carbon manual the game uses the following ports: * TCP: 18210, 18215, 13505 * UDP (outgoing) 18215, 20000-22000 * UDP (incoming) 3658 For best performance make sure you disable any filesharing, videostreaming and similar programs. Also you may have to allow the game to access these ports on your firewall, alternatively forward them from the router to the appropriate computer.
I analyzed the packets with Wireshark (an Ethereal successor), but i am really new into this, but i still think that making the NFS Carbon LAN Server is still possible. I wonder if the author ( http://3priedez.net/log/ ) of the original will try to look at it and make a nfsc lan server =) that would rock! http://3priedez.net/log/archives/86-nfsucarbon.html
'this time for real' i dont quite know what you mean by that, a release date hasnt been given yet. Atm were dealing with hooking into the game to allow the chatbox etc to be overlayed. Ill post some pictures here of the chatbox and keep screenshots updated. As for the site were currently switching servers so the site will have some downtime.
Thanks, Liquid

I've been reading all the posts now and yet I haven't seen anything but a site that isn't ready yet. I apreciate your work on this but do you know when it will be finished, and this time for real?

Sounds intresting although the site appears to be down.
My project however is alot more than just a LAN patch, it creates an online enviroment which allows players to join servers of there choice to play instead of the limited lobby type system, the reason why i posted in this topic is because u could just start a server as localhost and enter ip/port into client on a pc's connected to your network (using it like a lan server) or you can use internet IP and open the port u specified to make it accesible from anywere in the world with internet, in the client it shows a list of servers that are currently online. The NFSC:MP Team are aiming for high player support (over 8 players per server) the public beta release will have 8 player support, after public beta we will be working on increasing this.
Currently NFSC:MP supports 2 player sync, the network engine has been built from scratch and we are ensuring it is as fast as possible for smooth gameplay before the private/public beta releases.
Thanks,

The modification will be called NFSC:MP. the site will be up very soon (nfsc-mp.com), there will be a forum. screenshots, videos and infomation availible untill the release.
The current Developer Team consists of 2 people. Myself and a friend of mine. We will be looking for people expierienced in Memory writing/reading to help speed up the development progress.
We will also require a team of private beta testers to find bugs and report them. the beta tester team will be a bunch of people who make an application on the forums.
I will post back here when the site is up and running, thanks to anyone who supports this project.

Its too late guys, the NFS Carbon Patch is working perfectly for a long time, Camvuelta & Enjenje released it a couple of months ago and uploaded to http:www.camvuelta.com, what are u waiting for? download it now.
Camvuelta & Enjenje are the best hackers ever, now they are working on a Lan Patch for the Atari 2600

Post subject: Re: NFS Carbon over LAN possible? (Client/Server)
it may take some time but im writing a client/server using memory injection and a sync system i made out of winsck2, i have already found main address,s X, Y, Z of local player gets sent to server then server updates all clients with a 'fake' car that looks like an online player.
it uses no netcode in the game and an online enviroment is created just buy memory injection and syncing the injection between clients and server.
i may start a new thread in a while but this will NOT be lan it will be an ALTERNATIVE multiplayer and will work for pirated and legal versions of the game.
Stay Tuned. this will be released when its in a workable stable state but still may have bugs and a few desync issues untill 0.2 is finished.
Thanks,

The PGA professionals of Great Britain & Ireland will take on their USA counterparts at De Vere Slaley Hall, near Hexham, Northumberland for the PGA Cup in 2013 it was confirmed this week.
Like the Ryder Cup, to be staged at The Celtic Manor in October, the US are the current holders of the trophy after victory at The Carrick on Loch Lomond last September, but the home players who will be familiar with the Dave Thomas-designed Hunting Course currently are confident they can win back the Llandudno Trophy.

atmosphere. Representing your country is one of the biggest honours for a PGA professional and I’m sure by staging the event at such a renowned venue will help create the extra drama and excitement.”
Prior to Slaley Hall, home to the De Vere Collection PGA Seniors Championship, GB& I will have a chance to reclaim the PGA bragging rights in 2011 when the 25th anniversary matches take place at California’s CordeValle resort.

LOS ANGELES, April 12 (Reuters) - Tiger Woods’ losing battle to win the Masters golf tournament in his comeback after months of sex scandal gave broadcaster CBS its highest ratings for the event in nine years, the network said on Monday.

More PGA Tour Videos Top Sports storiesMascot collides with cop CBS said the U.S. audience for Saturday’s coverage of the Masters was up 33 percent from last year, while Sunday’s broadcast of the final round was up 36 percent from 2009.
But the audience was lower than the 20.3 million viewers who tuned in to watch Woods win his first Masters in 1997, and also below the TV viewership for his second Masters win in 2001.
The network, which is owned by CBS Corp, said its final round coverage was the third-highest rated final round of any golf tournament since 1986.
Woods, the world’s No. 1 golfer, returned to the sport after a riveting sex scandal forced him to take a break, during which he underwent treatment. But he failed to win a fifth Masters, played each year at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, finishing in a tie for fourth place on Sunday, five shots behind winner Phil Mickelson.
Spurred by sordid revelations of Woods’ multiple affairs behind his wife Elin’s back, viewers also turned out in droves on Thursday and Friday to give cable network ESPN the highest U.S. audience ever for a golf event on cable TV.
ESPN said an average 4.4 million viewers watched its coverage on Thursday and Friday, up 29 percent from 2009.
In addition, the Masters on ESPN.com led to 88 percent more page views and 98 percent more visits to the website than last year, the Walt Disney Co.-owned cable TV sports network said on Monday.
Woods, 34, had remained in the hunt for a 15th major title until the end but said afterward he was disappointed with his performance.
“I entered this event and I only enter events to win and I didn’t get it done,” he told reporters. “I’m going to take a little time off and kind of reevaluate things.”

we have the same experience about the NFSC online server, yes it works, but just for chatroom, but we cant connect to an online match, that's the problem.
