use the savegame selector or savegame activator tool from Carbon section on this website.

if you load up your old save and it actually loads in, then you probably overwritten the data in it with "empty set" when you were unable to load it due to the problem with the incorrect cdkey.

try to use the backup of your savegame. in case this won't help, you probably lost the progress =(

I had the same problem when I used a 100% profile i downloaded form the web. When i tried to load my old one again, it said that it was unable to load. i was frustrated, but i found a very easy way to continue playing with my profile:

First you have to run nfsc_saveeditor_1.25_coderipper. When you run it, you should see 2 profiles if you didn't delete your old one. Try to see wihich one is your original one. You should know which one yours is after seeing your nmae and the one of your crew.

Then you can activate the end of the career or unlock all cars etc. But due that i didn't want to do this, i just increased my money in 10$.

Then just save the profile but don't exit. Go to the "Tools" menu on the NFSC Saveeditor. Here you will see many things concerning your selected profile. You will see if the CRC of the profile is ok. If not, click on "Fix". Make sure that the "Save file Cd-Key" and the "Registry CD-Key" are the same. Then click on "Save Changes".

Now sou should select your old profile with your name. If it still not works change the names in your /My Documents/NFS Carbon/ Folder, if there are tow folders in there, change each others names.

And if you want to set all back the way it was, decrease your money as described above for increasing it Smile

I hope it works, shahariar@wolke7.net

Thanks a lot to CoDe RiPPeR (code_ripper@ukr.net), which coded this very useful, but simple to use tool.

PS: Increasing and afterwards decreasing the money is NOT necessary, BUT in some cases it worked, for example if you are playing on Win Media Center Edition.
