Important Notice on NFS Carbon Savegames
WARNING: DO NOT SEND OUT YOUR SAVE GAME TO ANYONE!
IT CONTAINS YOUR PRIVATE CD-KEY! YOUR EA NATION ACCOUNT CAN BE AT RISK!
Distributing the NFS Carbon Savegames
Once again i must warn you, that with your savegame you are also distributing your CD-KEY! You probably payed a big $$$ for it, so you generally should never send out your savegames. If you want to play others savegames you will have to follow this tutorial =))
Changing your Game CD-KEY To Play Downloaded Savegames:
To play a downloaded savegame you will have to change the game cdkey to one the savegame was created with. To do this follow these easy steps:
- download Cable or any other Hex Program
- run it and open the save game file you downloaded
CDKEY starts at offset 0000003c
20 Char long (this is near the beggining of the file)
CDKEY ends at offset 00000050 - it should be very easy to find - here's an example of the CDKEY:
123a123b123c123d123e 20 CHAR (this is not REAL!!!)
Write the code down. It should be only 20 letters and numbers. - To change CDKEY of the game run
Program Files\Electronic Arts\Need for Speed Carbon\Support\Need for Speed Carbon_code.exe
. The file may be in different folder if you changed your installation options.
Remember to backup your savegames before you try this!
